July Mission Project Update
The July mission project was a success despite the rainy day. 21 volunteered and meet at the church kitchen and prepared 94 sack lunches to go along with the bible verse water bottles. We handed out about 20 at miller park in the rain, but many did not show due to the rain. So the rest were delivered by the group to the community kitchen, where they were much appreciated. The group had a great time and I hope we will do it again in the future!

July Missions Project
Saturday July 21st at 8:30 am we will be meeting at the church kitchen to make sack lunches to hand out to the homeless downtown. We will car pool from the church once the lunches have been made, and will hand them out as a group. We will also be handing out cold water bottles along with the lunches. The water bottles will have labels that read...
Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life."
John 4:13-14
If you are interested in participating just show up at Tyner UMC kitchen at 8:30 am on Saturday July 21st or contact Brittani Bethel for more info.

April 2012 Service Project: Bethlehem Center
On Saturday April 28th, 2012 a group of about 12 hard working individuals met at Tyner UMC and traveled together to the Bethlehem Center to do some much needed landscaping on the front of the property. Ivy was cut, killed and pulled off the building and lines. Bushes and trees were trimmed, weeds were pulled and a truck load of mulch was spread. The trip was a success and the team worked happily together. There are plans to go back in the future to do some work in the back of the property, the date is still being determined.

March 2012 Missions
March was a busy month!
We had the tornado relief project on Saturday March 10th. We met and assembled at Greenwood Baptist Church. We had a total of 14 of our people go out and help two different families after the tornados. We helped clear and sort out at one home, and helped clear brush and debris at another.
Then on Friday March 16th we had a group go back to Greenwood Baptist church to serve dinner to relief workers/victims. A BIG thank you goes out to Sweeney's and Rib N' Loin for donating BBQ to serve.
The 1st annual Health Fair Extravaganza was held on Saturday March 24th.
