News on Isaac from the Holston Confrerence

 Hello:
I am asking all ERT and S&EC Team members to begin to review their
calenders to be able to identify the days they will be available to
respond to assist the survivors of Isaac when we are asked to assist.

We have not been called thus there are no dates of deployment yet.

This is a readiness notice of intent to deploy when called.

 In His Grace

Holston Conference Disaster Response Ministries

Holston Conference Disaster Response Ministries stands ready, when called upon, to deploy to assist the survivors of ISAAC.

Both the Early Response Teams and the Spiritual and Emotional Care Teams are standing by for the expected request for assistance from the affected United Methodist Conferences in the UMC Southeast Jurisdiction.

The ERT Trailers are ready and we have pre-packed a trailer with over 200 cleaning buckets to be sent as well. The districts of Holston Conference have more than replaced the 50 cleaning buckets that were sent to the Johnson City Districts flooding. We have an additional 219 buckets and more are being gathered from the districts.

After the initial response our UM Volunteers in Mission rebuild teams will be ready to deploy to assist with the rebuild efforts.

Holston Conference is ready to assist those affected by ISAAC.

July Mission Project Update

The July mission project was a success despite the rainy day. 21 volunteered and meet at the church kitchen and prepared 94 sack lunches to go along with the bible verse water bottles. We handed out about 20 at miller park in the rain, but many did not show due to the rain. So the rest were delivered by the group to the community kitchen, where they were much appreciated. The group had a great time and I hope we will do it again in the future!
